Marie-Ève Scarfone is a graduate of the Manhattan School of Music and of the Université de Montréal. She enjoys an exceptional career as pianist both in Canada and abroad, appearing across North America as well as in Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
In recital and chamber music events, Marie-Ève Scarfone has played at numerous festivals including The Song Continues (Carnegie Hall, New York), Històrico (Mexico), Printemps musical de Silly (Belgium), Flâneries musicales de Reims (France), Debut Atlantic, the Domaine Forget International Festival, the Orford Festival, the OSM’s Classical Spree, the Montreal Vocal Arts Society, and Thursday Concerts at the Louvre. The popular web site medici.tv has broadcast her recitals on several occasions with cellist Stéphane Tétreault.
Marie-Ève Scarfone is also busy on the operatic scene. She has led productions at the Wexford Festival Opera in Ireland, and at the Opéra de Québec. She is the rehearsal pianist for the Opéra de Montréal and the Montreal Symphony, and is choir master at McGill University and the Opéra de Montréal’s Atelier lyrique. In addition, she is official pianist for the Montreal International Musical Competition and the OSM Standard Life Competition.
Prizes include the piano prize from the Marilyn Horne Foundation Song Competition and the Sir Ernest MacMillan Memorial Foundation Award. The Opéra de Montréal has rewarded her talent on numerous occasions in the course of her training at the Atelier Lyrique. Her recordings with various musicians on the Analekta label have received international acclaim, and some have won prizes.
