Amphithéâtre Fernand-Lindsay

Friday, July 12 / 8 p.m.

Pianist Charles Richard-Hamelin needs no introduction to Festival audiences. This is the eagerly awaited return of both the winner of the most recent edition of the Warsaw Chopin Competition, and of Les Violons du Roy, whose very presence evokes some of the most memorable moments at Lanaudière. This concert features the pianist performing two of the divine Wolfgang’s most beloved and contrasting concertos. The lyrical Mozart and the symphonic Mozart will be bookended by music to Beaumarchais’ comic opera The Mad Day, or The Marriage of Figaro and one of Mozart’s later symphonies. Conductor Jonathan Cohen takes us back to the glory days of the genius of Salzburg.
