These actions will continue to be developed, However, the Festival de Lanaudière offers a wide range of news activities in 2024 ! Here are just a few examples:

Les Causeries acoustiques

The move of the Festival de Lanaudière’s administrative offices to the new MAISON DE LA MUSIQUE RENÉ-CHARETTE gave the Festival’s cultural mediation team the opportunity to set up a series that had been on their minds for a long time: Les Causeries acoustiques

As part of this series, you’re invited to join the cultural mediation team for an aperitif and to take part in a musical quiz, a discussion or a meeting with members of Quebec’s cultural scene.

As part of the Journées de la culture, the public was invited to discover the common ground that exists between literature and music, by taking the “ApérOpéra” quiz on September 30.

Stay tuned to this series via our Newsletter  for the chance to sign up for our next talks!

Collaboration between the Festival and the Concours de musique classique de Lanaudière

The Festival de Lanaudière has been helping to organize the Concours de musique classique de Lanaudière for several years now.

35 000 : the minimum number of young musicians taking part in the Festival and the Concours since the beginning of its history! Charles Richard-Hamelin was one of them: "From the age of six, I took part every year until I was 19! (...) I couldn't have had the success I had at the Warsaw Chopin Competition in 2015 without this valuable experience gained from my many Festival and Competition participations."

Despite the cancellation ofthe 2022 edition of the Festival and Competition, the Festival de Lanaudière offered the region’s young musicians a masterclass followed by a lecture-concert by Uliana Drugova and Michel-Alexandre Brockaert. In 2023, participants attended a participatory workshop on mental preparation for performance.

On February 18artist Sarah Bild will guide participants in reconnecting with their bodies as vehicles of instrumental practice. This free workshop is open to participants in the 2024 edition of the Festival and the Competition, as well as to musicians in the Lanaudière Region.
