Mariana Flores

Mariana Flores studied at the University of Cuyo in Argentina, with Silvia Nasiff and Maria Teresa D'Amico. She then went on to study at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis with Rosa Dominguez.

In recent years, the flamboyant soprano has established herself as an essential interpreter of the Baroque repertoire, taking part in opera productions at the Paris Opera, the Grand Théâtre de Genève, the Opéra Comique (Paris), the Dijon Opera, the Aix-en-Provence Festival and the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires. She works regularly under the direction of Leonardo García Alarcón. She has also collaborated - among others - with Sir John Eliot Gardiner, Christina Pluhar, Vincent Dumestre, Teodor Currentzis and Gabriel Garrido.

She has performed in the world's greatest festivals and has sung on every continent: in Asia, Europe and South America, she accompanied John Eliot Gardiner to the United States with his Orfeo/Vespers in 2016. She has also toured Australia with the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra.

At the opera for the last 3 years, you could appreciate her in El Prometeo by Draghi, La Finta pazza by Sacrati, Il Pallazzo Incantato by Luigi Rossi.

In September 2020, the Festival d'Ambronay offered her a concert "à la carte" where the public chose the most beautiful pieces from Mariana's recitals and records: Le Donne di Cavalli, Sogno di una notte Veneziana, Heroines of the Venetian Baroque, Teatro dei sensi...

Mariana Flores celebrates in 2021 the 100th anniversary of Astor Piazzolla with the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France before the resumption of the Monteverdi Piazzolla Concert at the festivals of Saint Denis and Tannay with Cappella Mediterranea.
