Charles Milliard elected President of the Festival de Lanaudière
Wednesday, January 11, 2023 - Charles Milliard, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Fédération des chambres de commerce du Québec, was named President of the Festival de Lanaudière’s Board of Directors on December 12, 2022. Mr. Milliard’s appointment reaffirms the Festival’s standing as a leader in the field of classical culture.
“I have long been involved in the artistic milieu, as I firmly believe in its importance to society and for regional economic development. The Festival de Lanaudière is a true cultural intersection between Europe and North America. Every summer, amid magnificent Lanaudière scenery, people get to enjoy the finest in classical music performed by international musicians and local artists on the Festival’s various stages.” - Charles Milliard, President of the Festival de Lanaudière’s Board of Directors.
A large number of younger people now sit on boards of directors throughout Quebec. The Festival de Lanaudière’s Board of Directors likewise displays a fine balance between the younger generation of entrepreneurs and long-established members from various industries in the province. The Board is made up of fourteen members, both from the Lanaudière region and elsewhere in Quebec, while its membership is also gender-balanced. This updated Board of Directors will fulfill the role of establishing the organization’s strategic orientations and of continuing to develop its local profile and international standing.
The Festival de Lanaudière is part of what defines Joliette’s and its region’s unique vibrancy. It establishes itself as both a cultural and tourist destination, through the synergy it maintains with various local actors, including Joliette Art Museum and the Centre culturel Desjardins.
The Festival’s Board of Directors and team wish to thank the outgoing directors, including Denis-Richard Roy, who served as President of the Board from 2018 to 2022.
