In Gustav Mahler’s Seventh, there lies an entire cosmos to explore, yet it is contained within the world of Vienna and its idea of culture. It spans the apotheosis of Classicism to the enigmatic modernity of a new twentieth century, a modernity perhaps never attained by Mahler until this gigantic symphony was premiered at a time when Europe marched unwittingly toward the abyss. The Orchestre symphonique de Montréal and Rafael Payare, whose performance of Mahler’s Fifth in the summer of 2022 remains etched in our memories, will unleash the full evocative power of this masterpiece in the perfectly suited setting of the Amphithéâtre Fernard-Lindsay.

Starting at: $37 under the roof | $25 on the lawn (Taxes not included)
